Paper Mache Wolf Mask

This mask begins with cardboard and paper mache. Then it comes to life with your creativity and a coat of acrylic paint. Three videos show you how, at UltimatePaperMache.com/wolf-mask

You can wear your wolf mask or you can display it on your wall. The downloadable and printable PDF pattern comes with complete assembly instructions, including tips for preparing it for a strap or for wall display.

You can use either traditional paper strips and paste over your cardboard mask, like I did in the video below, or you can cover it with my paper mache clay recipe (find the recipe in the Paper Mache Art Library. The link is at the top of the page). Before I painted my mask I used a heavy-bodied gesso to create fur textures, so be sure to watch the third video below to see how that was done.

Finished size: About 11.5 inches (29 cm) high, 9.5 inches (23 cm) wide and 4.5 inches (11.5 cm) deep.

To make the wolf mask you will need:

  • Standard letter size paper (8.5” x 11”) or A4 paper (210 × 297 mm)
  • A sheet of cardboard
  • Glue stick
  • Straight edge
  • Table knife
  • Scissors
  • Box cutter or craft knife
  • Tape
  • Paper strips and paste, or paper mache clay
  • Acrylic gesso, paint and varnish
